I'm sitting here craving spaghetti, a Twix bar, bratwurst and Corn Pops. Also fighting an inexplicable urge to whistle obscure songs. Can't stop moving either.

McDonald's straws stuffed with paper. Suck through those.
EDIT: Goddammit. Now I want bratwurst too. That sounds perfect right now.

I'm quitting too!
I was just a social smoker on the weekends though, so it's been easy so far!

I drank a half a large bottle of Jameson the second night that I quit.

Best of lucks! I was a pack a day, then begrudgingly moved to three or four per day. I'm now doing everything I can to not have a single smoke and still refrain from throwing my coffee cup across the room
It's kinda funny. I've never not had tobacco in my life. Now my body has all this energy and it doesn't know how to deal with it

Choose your nicotine replacement therapy, use it. I'm vaping currently, but the patch has worked for me in the past. Not that my life is very conducive to quitting smoking at the moment... god... four years I quite for... Women.. or one woman as the case may be... who is both the reason I started again and the reason I'm quitting again... Fuck My (Love) Life.

When I booze I want to smoke. But when I booze and smoke, I feel like shit. Really it should work well then. I like booze much more than smoke. Too bad I can't just cut the edge whenever I want with a beer or three

Not sure if quitting the mouth tobacco is the same thing, (2-3 tins a week) but I gained 10 pounds when I quit.
The mouth, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO! To this day I'm convinced it was half nicotine, half physical habit.
8-9 years later and I still chew gum to keep my mouth busy.
Good luck!

I've tried 'em all. Patches make me hallucinate, gum makes me smoke, Chantix makes me vomit and vaping - although it lessens the want for a smoke - doesn't lessen my dependence on Nicotine. So, after hemming and hawing and going back and forth I've decided just to tough it out. My wife may hate me for a while, but fuck it I'm done

Thanks, I need it!
And yes the mouth needs to be busy. I've chewed so many utensils/pens/etc. But you know what was a cool thing? We went up to the mountains yesterday. Walked Idaho Springs, Frisco and Vail. I didn't want a smoke nor did I have any troubles with the excess physical activity. This is totes doable, even if I do become a bitch for a while

Good luck! It's about 90% mental desire to quit. These past few months I haven't wanted to, but I want to again, so off we go....

Yesterday's little trip up to the mountains made me want to smoke even less. Just being able to walk the town without a crutch, not needing that little bit of nic, spending time with the wife without having to take a break (she doesn't do smoke at all), these were all great incentives. Just gotta keep it up. Gotta go fast.

I have excess brats from Sunday's barbecue. Guess what's on the menu tonight!

Hope you waved to my inlaws when you walked Frisco!
For me, it was the after dinner, while driving, the working on the computer, working on the car, airline flights, at the movies, cutting the grass, etc....etc.... that was the hardest to get past. Shit, I was even able to swallow it, so I could do it ANYTIME.
It's nice now not to have to pack six tins for a vacation or a trip out of town.

If I had have known your in laws were there, I would've stopped by and let them know how big of an internet superstar you are.
Beautiful place. Too bad it's expensive as hell.

I quit after 20 plus years at a pack plus a day. Did good on the patch. Thought I was good. A week after I stopped the patch I went back to it for a week. Got Champix. Once it kicked in I have never had a smoke. No cravings, the smell doesn't make me want one, I seem to be good.
Use the therapy if you need to, but stick to it. I had leg tremors and Restlesnes so bad I was sent to the couch. Took advil, a lot of it too. Calmed the twitches down. Do something that requires not smoking. Think Bagpipes, blow jobs, free diving, painting with blowtorches using ambient gas light, waterboarding, etc. I have kids. I have never smoked around them. I just hang out with them. It's also illegal to smoke just about anywhere in Ontario, so there's that.

So I haven't had a smoke in over a week, I've had insomnia the whole week and it sucks. We'll see how long I last.

Keep it up, it's all mental after about 1 day!! Just past 1 year cold turkey. Worked my way down to just with a drink at night to meh done!!! IT was tough as hell and I quit drinking and hanging out with my friends/wife when they drank until i broke the urge or desire to really smoke. Only bothers me when I am really putting them down. I just tell myself, "YOU DON'T SMOKE" and move on.
